Factory Classical
In 1989 the Manchester-based Factory Records released a brave new division of the label it was coined Factory Classical. What was interesting about Factory Records was that they were not only promoting the own style of New-wave Popular music but also that of the classical nature. Peter Saville was seen as a key architect in the creation of Factory Records athletic and was responsible for half the majority of the graphic material. Instrumental in establishing the Factory Records brand was the use of FAC numbers, these are simply catalogue numbers given to albums, events, posters and even cats (Hacienda Cat).
